It's Not The End

Oh Hello Blog!

I’m back to my usual shenanigans again!

I write this to you in the midst of finals week. While some may question this, myself included, I’ve come to the conclusion that in order to maintain mental health and stability you need to take breaks every once in a while. Which is exactly what I’m doing! I had one final today and five more to go, then I’m FREEEEEE…. for a month.

I’ve got to say this has been one stressful summer, filled with tears and fears no doubt, but I write to you in good spirits, as it seems almost everything has been all sorted out. Cross your fingers and say a prayer, thank ya Jesus!

After this week is over I’ll be packing up my humble abode of an apartment that I’ve lived in for 2 years and downsize to a cute little place down the block for my last 4 months of school, furnished with…Wait for it… a new roommate! If I have any advice for any munchkins entering college it’s this, DOWNSIZE! Continually downsize! A suitcase may look pretty big and never-ending, but don’t let it fool you, it’s no match next to Mary Poppins!

ANYWAY, you get the picture, I’ll be packing, shipping, donating, etc. BUT I will also be able to finally do some summer reading and possible bike riding around the city, which excites me more than a cat on catnip!

So here are some highlights of my non-existent summer vacation.

I hosted a Murder Mystery Party in JuneHarry Potter 7.2 Premier in July with some friends
Went to Hershey Park PA for a weekend with some friends to visit Ryan (in the blue)
Made more big top cupcakes!
Spent some time with the roommate!

I Don’t Know Where Home Is But I’m On My Way

Downtown Chicago

Since being home I’ve been on such a blogging hiatus. I’ve barely taken any pictures and haven’t done anything nearly as exciting. I’ve been biting my nails with boredom and watching way too much TV, but I guess this is my vacation in a way.

A birthday package from my brother welcomed me home! I got this oh so speechless cat pillow and Wine Monkey, which is essentially a sock… apparently parties love the Wine Monkey and the Wine Monkey loves to party…

Since being home I’ve been visiting with friends and family and preparing to go back to Boston… which I'll be packing as lightly as possible for... hmmm hopefully all my favorite shoes will fit in my suitcase

Hi Shoes!

Enjoy your week,

Bittersweet Endings, Where Has The Time Gone?

I’m really winding down here!
My Easter Collage!

Saturday I started packing, list making and prioritizing my week! I packed A LOT of my clothes into two suitcases and loaded them into my car! Doing that I had to think about how many days I have left in California :( I really hope that the weather in Chicago is nice when I come home because I’ve already started working on my tan for the summer!

Shannon and Rachel

Shannon’s good friend Rachel has been visiting us this week, so last night we decided to take her out dancing to a gay club called Rage! It was my first official outing as a legal 21 year old! We danced to a lot of Lady gaga, Britney Spears and Katy Perry!

Best timing shot!

Lasers!

Sunday was Easter!!! Shannon, Rachel and I attended a really nice Easter service then headed over to Blu Jam Café to meet Elliot for brunch. (Elliot went to a different church as he is not Catholic). Blu Jam Café was amazing!

Rachel had their Crunchy French Toast, which we all got to try! They were so sweet and delicious!

Mmmmm! Sunglasses, Coffee & Creme and one of Busia's old clutches that I loooove!

Also, as we were walking to the car after brunch I found an Easter egg on the grass! Yay!!!

Thank you!

After Brunch we headed back to the apartments to work on our final papers and homework. Blehhh! We’ll probably be sitting at our computers working for hours, but I will feel so much better once everything is done!

Tonight Shannon is cooking Fettucini Alfredo for dinner and I’m picking up some bread, a white wine and some ice cream for dessert (Shannon gave up sweets for lent, brave girl, so now she’s indulging again)!

(picture update)

I’ve got work and class this week and then I’m home free for a couple weeks. I still have my Thank You cards waiting for me tonight along with more packing and homework.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter Holiday, I know I am thankful that I talked to my family today and that I have such good friends out here in LA with me!

Any Last Wishes???

Me trying to be artistic

It’s the end of the semester, and just when the weather’s getting nicer and you want to get out and enjoy the day, you’re bombarded with final papers and projects. Well at least I am.

This past weekend some friends from the Berklee Music Business Club came out to LA! So Shannon, Elliot and I spent our Saturday out and about with a couple friends!

Elliot found his family...but not really

"Oh, that's my boss!!" - Shannon

I hardly took any pictures as I was driving all day, but I’ll tell you that we walked down Hollywood Blvd, ate lunch on Sunset, drove up Griffith park and had a wonderful view of Los Angeles, then strolled around Beverly Hills for a while until settling down for a nice Italian and carb loaded dinner.

My favorite wine from the wine tour

I received a massive amount of wine bottles in the mail from my mom for my upcoming birthday and bought myself a new nail polish along with a few other things…thanks mom!

Soon enough I’ll be re-packing my boxes and heading home for a couple weeks before more craziness ensues!

Hope everyone’s enjoying the warmer weather! Summer’s almost here!

I've Had My Cake...

"Listen, this is my town"

In 5 hours I’ll be on the road towards sunny warm and fuzzy California! Just to update you all, my driving buddy is my dad. It will be a fun trip filled with a lot of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Aerosmith etc etc. I spent the past 3 hours packing. I took a lot of breaks and just stared at all my clothes and things thinking “how am I going to do this??” but it happened.

STILL munching on Milkduds and will definitely take them on the road with me!

I’ve really enjoyed my last week at home, A friend of mine came to Chicago to visit me before I leave and never see her again for 4 months. It’s all very dramatic leaving your best friend on the other end of the continent. If there is one thing I want to do before leaving the Midwest and East coast, it’s spend time with my best friend from school. We have had so much fun in the past 5 days, lost a lot of sleep and drove all around the city of Chicago! I miss you already and you’re sitting right next to me.

finishing off my time in Chicago with these clowns

Well here is a rundown of how I think my day will start off tomorrow…

Wake up at the crack of dawn, get clean, make hot chocolate for my car mug, let my dad take the first string of driving while I snuggle up with my monkey stuffed animal in the passenger seat and enjoy the ride, or sleep! I’m still in denial that I’m leaving tomorrow, maybe my 5am wakeup call will help make it more real.

Anyway, here are some of the things that will occupy me on the car ride

My ipod

magazines

Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets book

My camera

And My Olive Garden $25 gift card! (whoo, looks like I know what’s for dinner)

View of the sunset from the Sears Tower Skydeck! Hype

I’d like to take this time now to thank everyone who has wished me the best of luck and has been so supportive of me. I will make sure I stay as safe as I can, but I will NOT wear a helmet people!

Exciting times are near!

Expect more interesting blogs this week… and tomorrow!
