It's Not The End

Oh Hello Blog!

I’m back to my usual shenanigans again!

I write this to you in the midst of finals week. While some may question this, myself included, I’ve come to the conclusion that in order to maintain mental health and stability you need to take breaks every once in a while. Which is exactly what I’m doing! I had one final today and five more to go, then I’m FREEEEEE…. for a month.

I’ve got to say this has been one stressful summer, filled with tears and fears no doubt, but I write to you in good spirits, as it seems almost everything has been all sorted out. Cross your fingers and say a prayer, thank ya Jesus!

After this week is over I’ll be packing up my humble abode of an apartment that I’ve lived in for 2 years and downsize to a cute little place down the block for my last 4 months of school, furnished with…Wait for it… a new roommate! If I have any advice for any munchkins entering college it’s this, DOWNSIZE! Continually downsize! A suitcase may look pretty big and never-ending, but don’t let it fool you, it’s no match next to Mary Poppins!

ANYWAY, you get the picture, I’ll be packing, shipping, donating, etc. BUT I will also be able to finally do some summer reading and possible bike riding around the city, which excites me more than a cat on catnip!

So here are some highlights of my non-existent summer vacation.

I hosted a Murder Mystery Party in JuneHarry Potter 7.2 Premier in July with some friends
Went to Hershey Park PA for a weekend with some friends to visit Ryan (in the blue)
Made more big top cupcakes!
Spent some time with the roommate!

"Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego"

So besides the fact that I had my first day last Thursday

This weekend I was invited by my roommate to take a trip to San Diego to visit her sisters!

Saturday we went to the San Diego Zoo which I’ve heard is one of the largest and most progressive zoo’s in the world. It was so much fun! Most of the animals were really friendly so I took a bazillion pictures.

Lounging
Exhausted
Elephants
Meerkats
"Pink Shlamingo!"
Can't be bothered

Later on we hit up Old Town San Diego, which is considered the "birthplace" of California. San Diego is the site of the first permanent Spanish settlement in California. We stopped for appetizers and drinks at this Mexican place, then walked around until dinner which was sushi! Delicious delicious sushi! We finished the night back at home watching Indiana Jones 1 & 2.

Sunday we headed out to El Coronado with the dog, a massive Great Dane named Nantucket. We spent a fair amount of time outside walking and enjoying the warm weather, took the dog to the dog beach for a while and then headed home for the football games.

As exciting as that may seem…..I was reading my Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets book

So the weekend was a success and the best part is it’s a really nice getaway when I start to get rid of the city and want a homier vibe.

The worst part of the weekend was that I realized from now on I will only get to see the light of day from Friday-Sunday. I wish I could just be in the sun all day everyday.

Stuck Under The Covers With My Uggs On!

PREPARATION!
Since I’m not on the road yet and have nothing exciting going on EXCEPT how amazing it is that I have yet to stop eating the bazillion boxes of Milkduds I got in my stocking this Christmas… this post is pretty much going to be my preparation and oh so exciting updates on my life such as, I’m currently reading Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets (for the first time), cue applause please!

So here are the things I bought the other day
It's an Ipod converter and charger for the car!

The camera I got for Christmas :)

And here are the things I still need to get
Among others of course

So I think I’m doing that thing where I’m trying to walk before I crawl…my latest worry is “what in the world am I going to wear at this internship??” Although that is something to worry about, I think that type of worrying shouldn’t be important until I secure an internship and actually get there alive, which my family is extremely concerned about.

I stayed in the other night and for hours went through my itunes to make playlist after playlist of music for the road. Music when I need to boost my energy, music for certain states, road music, etc etc.

(In case you don't know or haven't noticed, I am an avid list maker and like things to be organized in lists.)

I’m definitely getting pumped to hit the road but I still have 9 days of things to do at home. I’m having a friend from school come visit after the New Year, which will be nice motivation to get me out and into the city because It will probably be a long time until I’m back home.
Thanks for reading, hope the next blog will be more interesting
